Gambling Strategies for Roulette

Our Players' Online Casino Reviews for Roulette:

1.  Golden Tiger - This casino offers several variations on the Roulette game and is offering a 50% deposit bonus up to $250.

2. Blackjack Ballroom Casino - Another top casino that earns our roulette players' stamp of approval and offers up to $400 in bonuses.

As we have stated before, the easier the game, the        better the house edge.  Roulette is a prime example of this principle.  The math behind roulette is simple, but it also has some of the worst odds in casino gaming. American roulette gives the house an edge of 5.26% for every bet except one. The other bet gives an even worse house edge of 7.29%.  In other words, the longer your roulette session the more likely you will come out on the short end.

In some casinos there is a rule called ‘surrender.’  If the 'surrender' rule is in place (ask at the table before you play) it will give the best edge you will find in roulette.

This rule is applicable only to outside bets that pay even money, such as red/black, even/odd, and high/low. It works like this, if the ball lands
on 0 or 00 (double zero) you only lose half of your bet as opposed to the whole bet. The casinos advantage then falls to 2.63% in this situation, and that is about as good as it gets as far as roulette strategies.

The numbers:

Advantage = [18/38 x 1] + [18/38 x (-1)] + [2/38 x (-0.5)]
= -1/38
= -0.0263
or a house edge of 2.63%

An alternative roulette strategy is to look for wheels that don’t have a double zero. European roulette wheels usually  don't have a double zero, but it is very common for American tables to have it, as it improves the house edge. In that case, your best bet is to look for a wheel with no double zero in the online casinos and the brick and mortar casinos.

Roulette Rules

These double zero roulette games have a house edge on every bet of 5.26%, except the 0-00-1-2-3 combination which has a house edge of 7.89%. Roulette is considered by most to be among the easiest casino games to play and understand in the gambling casino.  A roulette wheel consists of 37 or 38 numbered slots: numbered 1 to 36, a zero, and in most casinos in the U.S a double zero. The roulette betting layout consists of every individual number and a host of "outside" or combinations of numbers. After the players make their bets the dealer spins the roulette wheel and a ball and after several seconds the ball will land in one of the numbered slots.

The Design of the Roulette Wheel

It is plain to see that the numbers on the roulette wheel are not logically ordered, and seem to be distributed randomly on the wheel. However, the distribution of numbers has been meticulously designed so that the sum of the numbers for any given section of the wheel would be roughly equal to any other section of equal size. In particular the numbers are usually organized in pairs, with one number in between, and whose sum is either 37 or 39.

Advantages for the Roulette player

  1. You can choose when and where to play.
  2. You can vary the amount of your wager.
  3. You can decide when to quit playing.

In summary, try to win more with fewer spins and don’t press if you hit a losing streak.
